Now in its 11th year, the Palmetto Peanut Boil has grown from a small backyard affair to an annual outdoor festival drawing thousands of attendees from all over the Midlands. Highlighting the best of the best cooks and recipes in SC, the competition features over 20 teams vying for the honor of the championship trophy and bragging rights for another year. And along with the competition, the Palmetto Peanut Boil also features live music, food, and kids entertainment. Admission is free, and all proceeds from the sale of food and beverages benefit the Animal Mission. Leashed pets are welcome!

The Animal Mission provides free or low-cost spay/neuter vouchers to all citizens of the City of Columbia and Richland County. Community spay/neuter programs prevent thousands of pets from entering the shelter system and facing euthanasia each year. The Animal Mission’s goal is to decrease the number of pets that must be euthanized, so that one day soon the Midlands will become a pet safe (no-kill) community

This event would not be possible without the assistance of our generous sponsors, along with the support of the City of Columbia and Richland County. There are many opportunities for your business to support the event, while reaching the eyes and ears of the thousands of like-minded animal lovers who attend each year. Every dollar contributed to the Palmetto Peanut Boil goes directly toward our efforts to make the Midlands a No-Kill community.
